How We Helped Energizer Brumley Solar Grow Online Without Paid Ads

Energizer Brumley Solar installs solar panels and battery backup systems for homeowners in Northern California.

They came to us with the goal of grow online without spending money on ads.

Solar advertising is expensive cost-per-click in this space can run $20–$50 or more. Organic growth was the smarter play.

What Did the Competition Look Like?

Before touching anything on their site, we did a full competitor analysis. We looked at who was already ranking locally, how strong their domain authority was, and where the gaps were. Most of their local competitors had weak Google Business Profiles and thin website content. That told us two things: the market wasn't locked up, and there were quick wins available if we moved fast on the right things. We also looked at review counts, GBP categories, and which service pages competitors had built out. This gave us a clear picture of where Brumley Solar could get traction first.

How We Approached Local SEO for Solar

Local SEO was the first priority. Brumley Solar already had strong 5-star reviews, which is a big advantage reputation wasn't the problem. The problem was volume. They didn't have enough reviews to signal authority to Google.

We started by fully optimizing their Google Business Profile. That meant building out their service list with the right keywords, writing a proper business description, selecting accurate categories, and making sure every field was filled in correctly.

From there, we launched a consistent GBP post schedule to keep their profile active and signal to Google that the business was engaged.

We also put a simple system in place to help them collect more reviews from real customers over time.

How We Built Their Organic SEO

Once the local foundation was in place, we shifted focus to their website. The goal was to get Google to see Brumley Solar as a legitimate authority in the solar space not just a homepage with a phone number.

We built out individual service pages for solar installation and battery backup, each targeting specific search terms their customers actually use. We also created supporting content that answered common questions homeowners have before going solar the kind of content that earns rankings and builds trust at the same time.

On the technical side, we cleaned up on-page SEO across the site: title tags, meta descriptions, header structure, and internal linking. Nothing flashy — just making sure the basics were done right. The result is a site that Google can actually read, understand, and rank for the right searches.
